Random Reboots with VMware ESX 3.5 U3

This goes back to a posting on December 12th about VMware HA’s Virtual Machine Monitoring rebooting guests after a VMotion, which was originally brought up by Scott Lowe and Duncan Epping. Well, a reader on Scott’s site has been talking with him about this problem and even after disabling Virtual Machine Monitoring it hasn’t gone away.

Advanced Settings for VMware HA

After discussing the issue(s) about NFS.LockDisable and how those problems may be generated (ie: VMware HA initiation), a few comments came in about VMware HA and how the default settings may not fit their specific needs.

NFS Datastores and what was their BIG issue…

This all started back about a year ago when I decided to move my datastores from Fibre Channel to NFS. The data was already on a NetApp FAS960c so I was enjoying thin provisioning and snapshots…but I wanted more!
